New MICIC Information Sheet: Linking Emergency Preparedness, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Climate Change Adaptation
We are pleased to announce the release of the latest addition to the Migrants in Countries in Crises (MICIC) Infosheet Series: “Linking MICIC, Emergency Preparedness, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Climate Change Adaptation”. This document provides a comprehensive overview of the interconnections and synergies between these critical areas of work.
Developed by the MICIC Unit in collaboration with the Emergency Preparedness (EP), Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation (DRR/CCA) units, and IOM Peru, this is the third contribution to the MICIC Infosheet Series in 2024, following the MICIC-Diaspora and MICIC-Private Sector infosheets.
This information sheet explores the importance of coordinating efforts across different sectors to address the growing humanitarian challenges, particularly those driven by climate change. It underscores the need for scaling up emergency preparedness and disaster risk reduction within humanitarian responses to build more resilient communities.
We trust that this new resource will offer valuable insights and support your work in strengthening preparedness and resilience. For any further information or inquiries, please feel free to contact us at MICIC-PCCA@iom.int.
