The regional consultation for countries in North Africa and the Middle East was held on 14 and 15 March 2016 in Valletta, Malta. The meeting provided an opportunity for governments to exchange views and identify best practices on how to assist migrants in countries experiencing crisis. 

The meeting was organized by ICMPD in collaboration with the United States Department of State and the European Commission, with funding from the EU’s Global Public Goods and Challenges programme.

Civil society organized a consultation on 11 and 12 March 2016 in Beirut, Lebanon, and presented the results during the governmental consultation. For more information on the civil society consultation, see: http://gcmigration.org/micic/.
