The Regional Consultation for Eastern Europe and Central Asia was held in Brussels on 25 and 26 June 2015. More than ninety delegates from Eastern European and Central Asian States as well as other key stakeholders including the European Commission, international and civil society organizations, academia, and the private sector, came together to exchange views and identify best practices on how to assist migrants in countries experiencing conflict or natural disaster.
The meeting was organized in collaboration with the United States State Department and the European Commission, with funding from the EU’s Global Public Goods and Challenges program.
Civil society organized a one-day consultation prior to the official event, and presented the results as part of the Setting the Scene session during the governmental consultation. For more information on the civil society consultation, see: http://gcmigration.org/micic/.
